国道を快走中 (Korean highways are good to ride on.)

１１月９日(水)　【旅 ７４日目　韓国２０日目】

 

 

今日は、大邸(テグ)にある市民球場横での目覚め。

 

昨日、警察官のおっちゃんと約束したので、

 

 

【テントは、７時に撤収。】

 

I stayed at a side of a stadium in Daegu last night.

I packed all my stuff by 7am as I had promissed a policeman to do so last night.

 

一応、交番に挨拶に行こうかと出発したら、

 

後ろから呼び止める声がした。

 

 

止まって振り向くと、警察のおっちゃんが手を振りながら走ってきた。

 

 

「よく眠れたか？そうか、よかった。Good luck!」

 

 

相変わらず身振り手振りの会話だったけど、

 

最後の部分は、はっきりわかった。

 

 

うんうん。やっぱりこの人、いい人だったな♪

 

 

おっちゃんに見送られて、気持ちよく出発。

 

 

（一応、交番にも行ってみたけど、昨日の夜とは顔ぶれが変わっていたので、他の人に挨拶はできなかった。）

 

 

When I started riding, someone called me.

It was the policeman I talked last night.

 

He said something to me, I couldn't understand what he said.

But he said "Good luck." at last with smile.

So I got what he wanted to say.

He was good man.

 

 

 

さて。

 

ソウルまでの道のりはまだ長いので、さっさと進もう。

(たぶん、あと５００ｋｍくらいだろう。)

 

The distance to Seoul is about 400km, I think.

It's been getting colder and colder everyday.

Now, I don't want to get slower anymore.

I should continue heading for Seoul everyday.

 

 

 

とは思いつつ、

 

しっかり朝ご飯を食べてからと思い、大学を探した。

 

 

 

目的はもちろん、学食である。

 

 

昨日も大邸の大学で学食へ行ったけど、

 

学食のボリュームと安さには、どの飯屋も勝てない。

 

そしてもちろん、学食はおいしい♪

 

 

韓国では、もう両替をしないと決めたので、

 

これからは、少し倹約生活なのだ。

(これまでは、一日食費７００円くらいの生活。)

 

Today, I looked for a university at the start.

Because we can eat big meals with a litte money at a refectory in a university.

I don't want to exchange money vanymore in Korea .

Now, I've got more thrifty.

 

 

 

駅から５ｋｍほどのところに、大学があった。

 

朝なので、メニューは2000W(140円)定食一つだったけど、

 

オバチャンが、ものすごいボリュームで盛ってくれたので、

 

お腹がパンパンになった。

 

 

食休みをしながら、ネットにつないでいろいろやっていたら、

 

もうお昼前になってしまい、また食堂へ行って、

 

今度はトンカツ(2800W=200円)で、またお腹いっぱい。

 

 

I found a refectory in a university.

A big breakfast meal cost only AUD $2.

I got so full by the meal.

 

Then I spend 3 hours in a library there.

(I was still very slow...)

 

So I ended up to have lunch at the refectory.

I ate "Tong-katsu" this time.

It was fantastic, and very cheap as well.

 

 

十分すぎるほどエネルギーを摂ったので、元気満々で大邸を出発。

 

 

今日の目的地は、６０ｋｍ先の町"金泉"(ｷﾑﾁｮﾝ)。

 

 

日本の高速道路のような４号線を、また快走した。

 

 

韓国の道は、峠越えの連続で大変だと聞いていたけど、

 

今のところ、クネクネと上る峠道は、まだ一度も走っていない。

 

 

これから、そういう道がたくさんあるのかな？

 

I had got so much energy to ride by the big meals.

I left Daegu for "Gimcheon".

Gimcheon is 60km away from Daegu on highway 4 (route 4).

 

Highway 4 has no pass between Daegu and Gimcheon.

I heard that riding a bike in Korea is bit hard,

because roads to Seoul have a lot of pathes.

 

So I expeceted lots of ups and downs.

But I haven't seen any pathes since I started riding from Busan.

 

 

４号線のような幹線道路を走っている限り、

 

そんな峠越えはしなくてもいいような気がする。

 

 

【ま、味気ないと言えばそうだけど…】

 

Highway is bit boring, but we can ride faster on that.

 

 

今は、のんびりと走って風景を楽しむよりは、

 

ちゃっちゃと先に進みたい。

 

 

ソウルまでずっと、こんな高速道路みたいな道が続いていたら、

 

楽だし、早くていいんだけどな。

 

I wish highways in Korea don't have pathes a lot.

I don't like climbing up by bike.

 

 

ともかく、今日もずっと時速２０ｋｍ以上をキープして、

 

３時間くらいで、金泉に着いた。

 

 

まずは、キャンプ地探し。

 

 

が、探すまでもなく、

 

 

駅へ向かっている途中で、"いい橋"を見つけた。

 

 

今日は、橋の下でキャンプ決定と。

 

After 3 hours riding, I arrived in Gimcheon.

It was good 3 hours riding on a smooth surface road.

 

I found a nice bridge I can stay beneath.

If I could find a good place to stay, there wouldn't be a things I had to mind.

 

 

 

寝るところが決まれば、あとは気楽なもので、

 

金泉の街(主に市場)を、歩いて見て回った。

 

街には大概、市場があって、見て歩くだけでもおもしろい。

 

 

運動した後は、甘いものが食べたくなるので、

 

途中で、屋台の"揚げパン"を４つも食べてしまった。

 

この「揚げパン屋」も、韓国のいろんな街で見かける。

 

 

【一つ５０円以下で、どれもなかなかおいしい。】

 

I walked around Gimcheon city downtown, especially in a market.

Many city in Korea has some kinds of markets.

It's fun for me to walk and look around in a market.

 

I always want to eat something sweet after riding.

I found a "fried bread" stall on a street.

Those breads were very sweet, but I ate up 4 of breads.

So I got full enought not to eat dinner tonight.

 

 

 

衝動的に食べた揚げパンで、もうお腹がいっぱいだったので、

 

橋の下へ行ってテントを張った。

 

 

夜は、かなり寒くなってきたので、

 

照明と暖房を兼ねたろうそくが、また活躍するようになった。

 

またろうそく買わなくちゃ。

 

 

今朝、天気予報をチェックしたら、

 

少し先にある町の、５日後の予想最低気温が２℃になっていた。

 

 

雪だけは降りませんよーに！

 

 

I went back to the nice bridge, then set my tent.

The night was very cold.

Candles I brought from Japan helped me to read a book and get the temperature warmer in my tent.

 

When I checked this week's weather forcast at this mornig,

it showed lowest temperature in 5 days were 2 centigrade digrees.

 

I hope I won't have snow on my way to Seoul.

【韓国の"へぇ～"】(What I saw in Korea.)

 

 

韓国では、出された食べ物を残すということが、悪いこととは思われていない。

 

食堂でも、食べ残す人たちをよく見かける。

 

 

調べてみると、

 

韓国では、食べ物を残すということは、

 

 

「食べきれないほどの料理を出していただいて、あなたところは豊かなのですね。」

 

 

と、相手に対して敬意を表すことになる、ということらしい。

 

(最近は、それも変わってきている、とも書いてあったけど。)

 

 

教員だったころ、

 

「みんなは、いろんな物から命をもらって生きているんだよ。」

 

だから、残さずに食べてあげようね。

 

そういう方針で指導していた自分としては、食べ残しを見るのが、少し心苦しい。

 

（それも韓国の文化だから、悪いこととは言わないけど。）

 

いろんな考え方に出会うのも、旅の楽しみの一つだ。

 

 

People in Korea often don't eat up their foods on dishes.

It's not a bad manner in Korea.

I would mind it if they did it in Japan.

When I was school teacher, I always told my students,

 

"We live on other creture's lives. Don't wast it."

 

I checked on the internet why they can leave their food.

It showed that Korean people think that's no problem.

Because it shows their respect to the host.

It's like to say,

"I couldn't finish my meal because your hospitality was too good for me."

It's interesting to know the difference of the way of thinking which people living in other countries have.
