今日は、一日中イアンさんの家でのんびりとくつろがせてもらった。
(I took a rest whole day at Ian's house.)
毎日あちこちへ出かけて忙しかったので、たまにはこういう一日もいいもんだ☆
(I've gone to many places so far, I needed relaxing time.)

１１月１６日(火) 【旅１０日目】
16/11/2010 Wed [10th day of this travel]
今日は、仕事探しにTullyへ行くため、ジェニーさんの出勤に便乗して、
(I was going to go to Tully today.)
カフェまで車に乗せてもらって行った。
(I asked Jenny to pick me up in the morning and she took me to her Cafe.)
そのまま車を借りてTullyまで行こうと思ってたんだけど、
(I was supposed to drive to Tully by her car.)
ジェニーさんが俺のために、仕事がないかあちこち掛け合ってくれていて、
(But it wasn't necessary anymore to go to Tully.)
Mareeba(マリーバ)という町のパイナップル農園での仕事を見つけてくれていた！
(Because Jenny had already found a nice job at Mareeba for me.Thanks a lot Jenny!)
Mareebaは比較的雨の少ないところで、ケアンズから６０ｋｍと環境はバッチリ。
(Mareeba has less rain than Tully. And it's only 60km away from Cairns.)
逆にTullyは、オーストラリアで最も雨の多い場所のひとつで、ケアンズからは１５０ｋｍ。
(Tully is one of the most wet place in Au. And it's 150km away from Cairns.)
オーストラリアはもうすぐ雨季に入り、一度雨が降ると一週間以上雨が降り続けて、
(It will be wet season in a few weeks in Au. Once it starts raining, sometimes it won't stop a week.)
仕事ができない状態が続くのもざららしい。
(If it happens, I couldn't work a week.)
しかも、経済の低迷している今は、仕事にありつくまでにかなり待つこともあるらしい。
(And also it is difficult to find a work in Tully because the buisiness is low now.)
ということで、バナナ農園での仕事には興味があったけど、
(So I decided to work in Mareeba, not in Tully.)
パイナップルもおもしろそうだし、ジェニーさんがせっかくお世話をしてくれたので、
(I think working at pineapple farm is also good experience for me.)
ありがたく、パイナップル農園での仕事をさせてもらうことにした♪
(Thanks of Jenny's big help, finally I had got a work!)
Tullyへ行かずに済んだので、前回カフェでお世話になったとき同様、
(I didn't go to Tully.)
カフェの営業を手伝って、今晩はカフェで泊めてもらった。
(I helped her at cafe, and stayed there tonight.)

【仕事後、ジェニーさんに"Josephine Falls"を案内してもらった】
これで、とりあえず仕事が決まった！
(I've got a work!)
ワクワクしてきた!!

１１月１７日(水) 【旅１１日目】
17/11/2010 Wed [11th day of this travel]
今日は、ジェニーさんのカフェでの目覚め。
(I woke up at Jenny's cafe today.)
今日はよく晴れた日だったので、午前中はカフェの庭仕事を手伝って、
(It was sunny day today. I helped her for doing some work for a garden in the cafe.)
お昼過ぎにケアンズへ戻ることに。
(I had decided to go back to Cairns after noon.)
なんと、
(And she said,)
「私の自転車、使っていいわよ。」
("You can use my bike freely.")
と、カフェに置いてあった自転車を、ケアンズへいる間貸してくれることになった♪
(It was kind of her to let me use her pushbike freely until my leaving Cairns.)
やっほ～い！(^0^)/
(Thanks Jenny!!)
２週間以上自転車に乗っておらず、運動不足でもあったので、めっちゃうれしかった☆
(I had wanted to ride a bike. I was very happy!)
（しかも、なかなかいい自転車だ♪）
(Furthermore, that was a nice bike!)
【Let's go to Cairns By bike!!】
カフェからイアンさんの家まで約５０ｋｍ。
(It was about 50km from the cafe to Ian's house.)
久しぶりの自転車移動を、景色を楽しみながら２時間半走った。
(It took 2 and half hours to get to Ian's house. I enjoyed my riding.)

家に戻って、イアンさんに仕事が決まったことを報告。
(After coming back, I told Ian I had got a work.)
俺のことを、"孫"だと思ってくれているイアンさん。
(Ian treats me as his grandson.)
仕事が決まったことを、とても喜んでくれた☆
(So he was glad to hear that.)

俺も、オーストラリアにじいちゃんができて、うれしいよ!! (^0^)/
(And I'm also glad, because I've got a grandfather in Australia!!)

１１月１８日(木) 【旅１２日目】
18/11/2010 Wed [12th day of this travel]
今日は、パイナップル農園のあるMareebaへ仕事の契約と宿探しへ行った。
(We went to Mareeba to see the place I''l work at and stay at.)
Mareebaは、ケアンズから約６０ｋｍ、標高400ｍの高地にある町で、
かつてはタバコ産業で栄え、今はマンゴー・バナナ・パイナップル・コーヒーなどなど、
いろいろな作物を育てている、肥沃な農業地帯。
ケアンズよりも涼しく、"一年で３００日は晴れ"だという、とても気候にも恵まれた町だ。
「ここで２ヶ月、暮らすことになるのか～☆」
とてもわくわくした。
職場となる農園『PINATA』(http://www.pinata.com.au/welcome.html)へ到着。
電話で感じの良かったマネージャーのDebは、実際に会ってみるとますます感じのいい人で、
「がんばってね、期待してるわ！」
("I'm happy to have you here!")
って、温かく迎えてくれた。
職場もいろいろ案内してもらい、とてもいい印象だった☆
そして、土曜日から早速働くことに♪
めっちゃ楽しみだ！ (^～^)v
Mareebaにはバッパー(安宿)がなかったので、キャラバンパークにテントを張って暮らすことになった。
なんと、週たったの＄５０(約４０００円)。
久しぶりのキャンプ生活に、ますますわくわく。

順調に事が進みすぎて怖いくらいだけど、いろんな人にお世話になって決まった仕事だから、
これからがんばらなくちゃ！
１１月１４日(日) 【旅８日目】

今日も午前中は、イアンさんの家でのんびり。
(I took a rest at Ian's house until midday.)
イアンさんの家のウッドデッキにいると、いろんな鳥がやってくる。

夜は、クリスの家のＢＢＱへ招待されていたので、
(We were invited to the BBQ for dinner at their house.)
イアンさんと二人でお邪魔して、クリス一家と楽しく過ごさせてもらった♪
(We had a good time there.)

特に面白かったのは、クリスのお母さんとの会話。
(It was nice talking to Chris's mother.)
コモドドラゴンの研究者たちと一緒に行ったインドネシアの旅の話を、たっぷり聞かせてもらった♪
(She told me about her travel in Indonesia with "comodo dragon" reseachers.)

１１月１３日(土) 【旅７日目】
13/11/2010 Wed [7th day of this travel]
今日は、楽しみだったジェニーさんの家へ行く日。
(We had planed to go to Jenny's house today.)
午前中は家でのんびり。
(We took a rest until midday)
さて、昼食にしようか。
("Let's cook a lunch!" We started preparing for a lunch.)
というときに、近くに住む高校生のクリスが
(Then Chris came.)
「一緒に釣りに行かないか？」
("Would you like to go fishing together?")
と誘いにやってきた。
(Chris asked me.)
もちろん、行くことにした。
(Of course I said "Yes!".)

(We went to the nearby jungle.)

(I followed Chris.)

(We fished in the jungle!)

結局、俺は一匹も連れなかったけど、
(I couldn't get any fish after all.)
ジャングルでの釣りはエキサイティングだったし、
(But fishing in the jungle was very exiting for me,)
クリスとも仲良くなれたのでよかった♪
(and we could be a good friend. I was happy for that.)
夕方に帰ってきて、ジェニーさんの家へ。
(In the evening, we went to Jenny's house.)
ジェニーさんの家は、山(というかジャングル)の中に建つ豪邸でびっくり。
(I was really surprised because Jenny's house was the mansion in a jungle!)

三人で楽しくおしゃべりをして、いい時間だった♪
(We had a good conversation and had a nice time.)
ジェニーさんは、ケアンズ周辺で仕事をしている人のつながりが多いようで、
(Jenny has some friends who warks at a farm in Cairns.)
俺の仕事探しの手伝いをしてくれるという。
(She said She will ask them if there is a job for me or not.)
さらに、ジェニーさんの家の庭仕事もたくさんあるそうで、
(Furthermore, Jenny had some work for her garden.)
もし手が空いているのなら、ホームステイしてもいいって♪
("If you have nothing to do, you can work for me." She said.)
ケアンズでの滞在が、また楽しくなりそうだ☆
(Things gonna be more fun from tomorrow.)
１１月１２日(金) 【旅６日目】
12/11/2010 Wed [6th day of this travel]
今日は、イアンさんと船でグレートバリアリーフまで行って、釣りをする日。
(Today, I went fishing with Ian to Great Barrier Reef by his boat.)
久しぶりの海釣り、俺はめっちゃ楽しみだった☆
(It had been a long time since last time I went fishing to the sea. I was really looking forward to fishing today.)
昨日は、１２時過ぎまで映画を見ていてめっちゃ眠かったけど、
(We watched the movie which is "inglorious bastards" last night untill passed midnight,)
朝５時前に、イアンさんがちゃんと起こしてくれた。
(Ian got up early and woke me up. Thank you!!)
【Let's go fishing!!】
ケアンズのボートランプから、約４０ｋｍ。
(It was 38km away from the mainland to the point Where we fished.)
１時間２０分くらい沖へ走って、バリアリーフのすぐ手前のポイントに到着。
(It took about 1hour and 20minutes to there.)
釣りを始めると、３０分も経たないうちにCoral troutが釣れた！
(And it took less than 30minutes to catch the first fish which was Coral trout!)

(It was just keep size!)
あまり大きいのはつれなかったけど、その後も順調に釣っていった♪
(We couldn't catch any big fishes, but caught many kinds of fishes.)

【ちょっとお昼寝。(って、まだ朝７時半だ！)】
３時間後、突然雲行きが怪しくなり、大雨が降ってきた。
(About 3hours later, suddenly we had a heavy rain.)
「さっきまで晴れてたのに、すごい雨だな…。」
(It had been sunny day until just before.)
と思うや否や、イアンさんが投げて置いていたウキ釣りの竿が
(Then, I heard a strange sound from Ians rod.)
「ウィーン!!」とすごい音を出し始めた。
("Weeeeen!")
大物だ！！
("That's a big fish!!" I thought.)
ものすごい勢いで、糸が引っ張られていく。
(The line was pulled away very fast.)
が、
「こいつは、きっとサメか何かだ。」
("I think it's a shark or something.")
竿を持っていたイアンさんがそう言ったので、がっかり。
(Ian said. I was disappointed to hear that.)
サメじゃ、食べられないじゃん。
(We can't eat a shark.)
「ケン、引きだけでも楽しんでみなよ。」
("Would you like to fight with this,Ken?")
とイアンさんが言うので、バトンタッチ。
(So I took the rod.)
も、ものすごい力だ…。
(Wow! What a strong fish!)
「でも、サメなら釣り上げても仕方ないよなぁ～。」
(But it's not worth catching...(because we can't eat a shark!))
あまり期待はしないで、それと格闘。
(I kept fighting with small interest.)
１５分以上経って、ようやく魚影が見えるようになってきた。
(I could see the shape in 15minutes.)
「あっ！こいつ、サメじゃない！！」
("Oh, that's not a shark!!")
明らかに、サメのそれとは見た目が違った。
(It's shape was definately different from shark's one.)
食える魚と判明した途端、一気にテンションがＵＰ!!
(Then suddenly I got excited!!)
うわ～。何だよ、このデカい魚は！？
(What a hell is this fish!?)
逃げられないよう、慎重に糸を巻いていき、最後はイアンさんがフックでゲット！
(It took twenty minutes to get the fish in the boat.)
【イアンさんもびっくりの大物！】
(We had got a big fish!)

二人で大興奮、大喜びだった☆
(We were so excited and happy!)
時刻はちょうどお昼時で、もう今日の釣果はこれで十分だったので、家に戻った。
(The time was around noon. We thought it was much enough for our dinner,so we returned.)
Spanish Mackerelを近所や知り合いの人におすそ分けして、
(We gave some pices of Spanish Mackerel to Ian's friend.)
さあ、今晩は夕飯に何を作ろう！
(Then let's cook!)
と、張り切っていたんだけど、
(I thought I could cook some dishes for Ian.)
早起きしたし、今日はあちこちに行ったので、夜はめちゃくちゃ眠かった。
(But I was so tired that I couldn't cook.)
結局、晩飯を作る元気もなく、イアンの作ったサラダと冷凍食品を食べたら、
(Ian cooked for me in the end.)
すぐに眠くなって寝てしまい、さっさと就寝。
(Then we went to bed early.)
でも、今日も充実した一日だった！
(But today was exciting day!)
