楽しいピクニック (Picnic with Ao-chan's family)

９月６日(火)

 

 

今日は、青ちゃんの家での目覚め。

 

昨日は深夜までいろいろ話をしていたし、布団で寝るのが気持ちよかったので、

 

目が覚めると、もう９時だった。

I stayed at my friend "Ao-chan"'s house last night.

We talked a lot until 1 o'cklock in the morning.

When I woke up, it was already 9am.

 

外を見ると、見事な快晴！
 

 

太陽の光、久しぶりだな～♪

 

湿っていたテントや寝袋を、すぐに干した。

 

The weather today was beautiful.

It had been a few days since last time I saw the sun in the sky.

I was able to dry my tent and sleeping bag.

 

 

そしてラッキーなことに、今日は青ちゃんの仕事が休みとのこと。

 

Ao-chan took 2 days off from tday.

 

午前中は家でのんびり過ごして、午後からみんなで出かけることにした。

 

Today,we got relaxed in the house in the morning then went out in the afternoon.

 

青ちゃんの家から車で３０分くらいのところに、

 

"日本最大級のポットホール"

 

があるというので、そこへ泳ぎに行くことに。

 

とにかくデカいポットホール(甌穴)らしい。

（＊甌穴(おうけつ)…急流の河床の岩石面に生ずる鍋状の穴。）

 

 

There are a lot of creeks around Ao-chan's house.

One of them has a massive "pothole" in it.

We wanted to swim there.

 

お弁当とデザートを買って、わくわく気分で出発。

We bought lunch and snacks before going to the creek.

I was so exited to go there.

 

 

青ちゃんの運転で、細い山道を、車はどんどん山の奥へ進んでいく。

 

田舎というレベルを超えた、人が全く住んでいないような、ほんとの山奥。

 

「熊出没注意」の看板が、あちこちにあった。

 

(それでも、信じられないような奥に、民家がいくつかあるのに驚いた。)

 

The road to the creek was so narrow and isolated in a mountain.

Many times,I saw a caution bord which says "warning. Bears may appear." 

 

 

３０分ほどして、ポットホールへと続く歩道の入り口に到着。

 

After 30 minutes drive, we arrived the entrance of the track which lead us to the pothole.

 

 

【ポットホールへは、沢を登って行くらしい。】

This bord says we have to climb up in a creek to the pothole. 

 

 

いいねいいね～♪

"Walking in a creek." sounds good!

 

 

わくわくして、青ちゃんと沢へ降りていった。

 

ここのところ、ずっと雨続きだったので、沢は増水している。

 

 

冷たい川の水に足をつけながら、少し上ると、

Ao-chan and me walked down to the creek.

Because it had continued raining so much these days,

the water level in the creek had got so high.

 

The temperature of the water was chilly.

It made me excited.

We kept walking in the creek.

Then...

 

 

【岩に、鉄の鎖と足場がつけられていた。】

 

We found metal steps and chains on rocks.

 

 

「お～！こんな感じ！？ますますいいね～♪」

 

It looks much fun!

 

 

鉄の足場と鎖を伝って、ポットホールへと進んでいく。

 

 

が、

 

 

ポットホールはすぐそこ、というところまで来たとき、

 

川は、完全に激流になっていた。

 

 

鎖と足場は、水に浸かっている。

We kept walking on the steps to the pothole.

But the streem of the creek had got too strong and the water level had got too high.

Even the pothole was just in front of us, we couldn't get any closer.

 

 

【いや～、こりゃ無理だ～。】

It's too dangerous to proceed.

 

 

無理して激流に逆らって行けば、たどり着けたかもしれないけど、

 

岩でツルっと滑りでもしたら、大変なことになりそうだったので、

 

無理はしないで引き返した。

We might be able to get to the pothole if we had tryed.

But we couldn't risk our life.

So we gave up to reach there.

 

 

【ま、ここまで来るだけでも楽しかったね！】

It was thrilling and much fun, anyway.

 

 

【上から見た、日本一のポットホール】

 

We saw the pothole from a hill above.

 

水がありすぎてよくわからなかったけど、

直径７メートルの大穴が、流れの下に空いているらしい。

 

川が増水していないときに、また来よっと！

 

I'll be back here someday when the water level is lower.

 

 

その後、青ちゃんと山をウロウロ迷いながら車に戻り、

 

その先の「野田平キャンプ場」で、昼食を食べることにした。

 

Then we went to a campsite to have our lunch.

 

人里離れた山奥に、広くて立派なキャンプ場があったのに、

 

またびっくり。

 

今はもうシーズンオフなのか、管理人も利用者も、誰もいなかった。

 

川原に車を止め、パン一で川へ入って泳いだ。

 

かなり浅かったけど、水はきれいだし、魚もたくさんいていい川だった。

The campsite is also isolated in a mountain.

There was nobody there.

We swam in a clear water creek.

I saw a lot of small fishes.

 

 

【気持ちよかったな～☆】

I like swiming in a creek.

 

家から持ってきたシュノーケルが、役に立った！

It's good to have a snorkel when I travel by pushbike.

 

 

【自然の中で、わこちゃんもごきげん♪】

Ao-chan's daughter Wako-chan looked happy in nature.

 

 

ちょっと遅いけど、夏らしい一日を楽しめた。

Today would be one of the best day in this summer for me.

 

 

夜は、青ちゃんが北海道から持ってきたルーを使って、

 

豚バラのスープカレーを作った。

 

めちゃくちゃ旨かった。

 

I cooked a curry rice for our dinner tonight.

The curry roux was special one from Ao-chan's home town Hokkaido pref.

The curry rice was funtastic.

 

また、思い出に残る楽しい一日だったな～☆

 

I would never forget this happy day.
