１１月１３日(土) 【旅７日目】
13/11/2010 Wed [7th day of this travel]
今日は、楽しみだったジェニーさんの家へ行く日。
(We had planed to go to Jenny's house today.)
午前中は家でのんびり。
(We took a rest until midday)
さて、昼食にしようか。
("Let's cook a lunch!" We started preparing for a lunch.)
というときに、近くに住む高校生のクリスが
(Then Chris came.)
「一緒に釣りに行かないか？」
("Would you like to go fishing together?")
と誘いにやってきた。
(Chris asked me.)
もちろん、行くことにした。
(Of course I said "Yes!".)
【"近所のジャングル"へ】
(We went to the nearby jungle.)
【道なき道を進むクリスに着いていく】
(I followed Chris.)
【ジャングルでの釣り】
(We fished in the jungle!)

結局、俺は一匹も連れなかったけど、
(I couldn't get any fish after all.)
ジャングルでの釣りはエキサイティングだったし、
(But fishing in the jungle was very exiting for me,)
クリスとも仲良くなれたのでよかった♪
(and we could be a good friend. I was happy for that.)
夕方に帰ってきて、ジェニーさんの家へ。
(In the evening, we went to Jenny's house.)
ジェニーさんの家は、山(というかジャングル)の中に建つ豪邸でびっくり。
(I was really surprised because Jenny's house was the mansion in a jungle!)
【Ｔボーンステーキをごちそうになって】
(She cooked T-bone steaks for us.)
【イアンさんとジェニーさんと】
(With Ian and Jenny.)
三人で楽しくおしゃべりをして、いい時間だった♪
(We had a good conversation and had a nice time.)
ジェニーさんは、ケアンズ周辺で仕事をしている人のつながりが多いようで、
(Jenny has some friends who warks at a farm in Cairns.)
俺の仕事探しの手伝いをしてくれるという。
(She said She will ask them if there is a job for me or not.)
さらに、ジェニーさんの家の庭仕事もたくさんあるそうで、
(Furthermore, Jenny had some work for her garden.)
もし手が空いているのなら、ホームステイしてもいいって♪
("If you have nothing to do, you can work for me." She said.)
ケアンズでの滞在が、また楽しくなりそうだ☆
(Things gonna be more fun from tomorrow.)
１１月１２日(金) 【旅６日目】
12/11/2010 Wed [6th day of this travel]
今日は、イアンさんと船でグレートバリアリーフまで行って、釣りをする日。
(Today, I went fishing with Ian to Great Barrier Reef by his boat.)
久しぶりの海釣り、俺はめっちゃ楽しみだった☆
(It had been a long time since last time I went fishing to the sea. I was really looking forward to fishing today.)
昨日は、１２時過ぎまで映画を見ていてめっちゃ眠かったけど、
(We watched the movie which is "inglorious bastards" last night untill passed midnight,)
朝５時前に、イアンさんがちゃんと起こしてくれた。
(Ian got up early and woke me up. Thank you!!)
【Let's go fishing!!】
ケアンズのボートランプから、約４０ｋｍ。
(It was 38km away from the mainland to the point Where we fished.)
１時間２０分くらい沖へ走って、バリアリーフのすぐ手前のポイントに到着。
(It took about 1hour and 20minutes to there.)
釣りを始めると、３０分も経たないうちにCoral troutが釣れた！
(And it took less than 30minutes to catch the first fish which was Coral trout!)
【キープサイズの３８ｃｍギリギリ！】
(It was just keep size!)
あまり大きいのはつれなかったけど、その後も順調に釣っていった♪
(We couldn't catch any big fishes, but caught many kinds of fishes.)

【ちょっとお昼寝。(って、まだ朝７時半だ！)】
３時間後、突然雲行きが怪しくなり、大雨が降ってきた。
(About 3hours later, suddenly we had a heavy rain.)
「さっきまで晴れてたのに、すごい雨だな…。」
(It had been sunny day until just before.)
と思うや否や、イアンさんが投げて置いていたウキ釣りの竿が
(Then, I heard a strange sound from Ians rod.)
「ウィーン!!」とすごい音を出し始めた。
("Weeeeen!")
大物だ！！
("That's a big fish!!" I thought.)
ものすごい勢いで、糸が引っ張られていく。
(The line was pulled away very fast.)
が、
「こいつは、きっとサメか何かだ。」
("I think it's a shark or something.")
竿を持っていたイアンさんがそう言ったので、がっかり。
(Ian said. I was disappointed to hear that.)
サメじゃ、食べられないじゃん。
(We can't eat a shark.)
「ケン、引きだけでも楽しんでみなよ。」
("Would you like to fight with this,Ken?")
とイアンさんが言うので、バトンタッチ。
(So I took the rod.)
も、ものすごい力だ…。
(Wow! What a strong fish!)
「でも、サメなら釣り上げても仕方ないよなぁ～。」
(But it's not worth catching...(because we can't eat a shark!))
あまり期待はしないで、それと格闘。
(I kept fighting with small interest.)
１５分以上経って、ようやく魚影が見えるようになってきた。
(I could see the shape in 15minutes.)
「あっ！こいつ、サメじゃない！！」
("Oh, that's not a shark!!")
明らかに、サメのそれとは見た目が違った。
(It's shape was definately different from shark's one.)
食える魚と判明した途端、一気にテンションがＵＰ!!
(Then suddenly I got excited!!)
うわ～。何だよ、このデカい魚は！？
(What a hell is this fish!?)
逃げられないよう、慎重に糸を巻いていき、最後はイアンさんがフックでゲット！
(It took twenty minutes to get the fish in the boat.)
【イアンさんもびっくりの大物！】
(We had got a big fish!)
【１ｍ１０ｃｍの"Spanish Mackerel"】
二人で大興奮、大喜びだった☆
(We were so excited and happy!)
時刻はちょうどお昼時で、もう今日の釣果はこれで十分だったので、家に戻った。
(The time was around noon. We thought it was much enough for our dinner,so we returned.)
Spanish Mackerelを近所や知り合いの人におすそ分けして、
(We gave some pices of Spanish Mackerel to Ian's friend.)
さあ、今晩は夕飯に何を作ろう！
(Then let's cook!)
と、張り切っていたんだけど、
(I thought I could cook some dishes for Ian.)
早起きしたし、今日はあちこちに行ったので、夜はめちゃくちゃ眠かった。
(But I was so tired that I couldn't cook.)
結局、晩飯を作る元気もなく、イアンの作ったサラダと冷凍食品を食べたら、
(Ian cooked for me in the end.)
すぐに眠くなって寝てしまい、さっさと就寝。
(Then we went to bed early.)
でも、今日も充実した一日だった！
(But today was exciting day!)
１１月１１日(木) 【旅５日目】
11/11/2010 Wed [5th day of this travel]
今日は、イアンさんとTullyへ行って、俺の仕事探しをするはずだった。
(Today, we were supposed to go to Tully and do some reseach for my job.)
しかし、朝、
(But in the morning,)
「ケン、明日はバリアリーフに釣りに行けるぞ。」
("Ken, tomorrow will be a good day for fishing at Barrier reef.")
と、天気予報を見たイアンさんが言った。
(After checking the forcast, Ian said.)
この時期、ケアンズの海は波が荒くて、小さいボートではなかなか釣りに行きづらい。
(Normaly in this time of the year, it's hard to go fishing by small boat because of rough surface of the ocean.)
でも、「いい日があったら釣りに行こう！」って前から話していた。
("If the condition is good, let's go fishing !" We had decided.)
Tullyには泊りがけで行くつもりだったので、明日釣りに行くなら今日はTullyへは行けない。
(I was thinking of that I was going to go to stay one day in Tully. So if I would go fishing, I could'nt go to Tully today.)
「どうするケン？？」
("What do you think, Ken?")
もちろん、俺は釣りの方を選んだ。
(Of course I chose to go fishing.)
Tullyへは、いつでも行けるし。
(I think I can go to Tully whenever I want.)
ということで、今日はTullyへは行かず、ジェニーさんのカフェへ行くだけになった。
(So we'll not to go Tully today, just go to Jenny's cafe.)
ジェニーさんのカフェへは、ケアンズから４０ｋｍほど。
(Jenny's cafe is located by 40km away from Cairns city.)
ちょうどお昼頃、懐かしいあのカフェに着いた！
(We arrived at her cafe just around noon.)
【懐かしい～！】
(This cafe reminds me of good memorys!)
カフェに入ると、
(When I came in the cafe,)
「ケン！久しぶりねー！」
"Hello Ken. How are you?"
と、元気なジェニーさん♪
(Jenny looked prety fine.)
【カフェには、ジェニーさんの描いた絵がたくさん飾ってある。】
(There are many paintings Jenny drew in the cafe.)
前に会ったときよりも、さらに元気そうでうれしかった☆
(I was impressed how well she looked.)
イアンさん、ジェニーさんと３人で、出会ったときのことを懐かしみながら楽しく話したけど、
(We talked about the day we met and etc. I enjoyed the conversation with them.)
お昼時に来てしまったので、お客さんがたくさんいて、なかなかゆっくりは話せなかった。
(But she was busy because it was lunch time.)
「土曜日の夜、うちに来ていいわよ。」
("You can come to my house on saturday night.")
と、ジェニーさんが言ってくれたので、日を改めて、会いに行くことにした。
(Jenny said. So we decided to visit her again on saturday.)
俺が、
(When I told her )
「今、こっちでの仕事を探してるんです。」
("I'm looking for a job at a farm now.")
と話すと、当てがあるからと、知り合いの農園に電話してくれたジェニーさん。
(She tryed to help me to find a job by calling some of her friends.)
二人とも、いつも俺を助けようとしてくれて、ほんとにいい人だ♪
(Ian and Jenny are always nice and helpful to me. They are really good people!)
とりあえず、ジェニーさんには再会できて、挨拶だけでもできたのでよかった！ (^-^)q
(It was short time, but I was happy because I could see her again!)
帰ってきて、イアンさんは明日のために船を準備。
(In the afternoon, Ian prepared his boat for fishing tomorrow.)
俺は、ゆっくりさせてもらった。
(I took a rest.)
「晩飯に、何か日本らしいものを…」
("Let's have some Japanese dish for our dinner tonight.")
と思って、今晩は"魚の煮付け"を作ることにした。
(I thought. So I decided to cook a Japanese stile boiled fish.)
【材料は、"Coral trout"】
(The fish for dinner tonight is "Coral trout")
正直、魚の煮付けなんて１～２回しか作ったことなかったけど、
(To tell the truth, I've ever cooked a boiled fish only 1 or 2 times.)
ネットでレシピを調べて、なんとかやってみた。
(So I checked how to cook on the internet, then I tryed. )
これが、意外にもイアンさんに好評だった☆
(Unexpectedly, Ian liked the dish I made.)
自分的には、イマイチだったんだけど…。
(I thought it didn't taste good.)
とにかく、喜んでもらえてよかった♪
(Anyway, I was glad I cauld make Ian happy.)
明日は、朝５時起きで、グレートバリアリーフへ釣りに行くぞ～！
(Tomorrow, we'll get up at 5am and go fishing in the Great barrier reef!)

１１月１０日(水) 【旅４日目】
10/11/2010 Wed [4th day of this travel]
今日も、イアンさんの家での目覚め。
(I woke up at Ian's house today.)
昨日の夜は、みつとの会話が盛り上がって深夜まで起きていたので、
(Yesterday, I talked with one of my best friend Mitsu on skype untill very late at night.)
寝たのは午前３時過ぎ。
(I went to bed past 3am.)
「明日は、早起きして"レッドアロー山"へ散歩に行こう！」
(Tomorrow, let's get up early and climb "Red allow"!)
なんて話を、イアンさんとしていたんだけど…
(We planed like that...)
目が覚めて計を見ると、なんと１１時でびっくり。
(When I woke up I was really surprised. Because it was already 11am!!)
「ぐ、ぐっども～にぃ～んぐ…。」
(G...Good morning...)
「ははは。よく眠れたかい？」
(ha ha. Did you sleep well?)
笑って済ませてくれる、優しいイアンさん。
(It was kind of Ian to show me a smile.)
昨日の晩、
(Last night I said )
「早起きは得意ですから！」
("I'm good at waking up early!")
なんて言った自分が恥ずかしい。笑 (~.~;)
(I was very ashamed to say that...)
遅い朝食(もう昼食)にポーチドエッグとトーストを作ってもらって食べ、
(For my breakfast, Ian cooked poached eggs and toast bread. Thank you so much!)
ちょっとゆっくりしてから、イアンさんと一緒に街へ出かけた。
(After a while, we went to Cairns city.)
街のちょっと手前で下ろしてもらい、
(I took off the car before the city,)
エスプラネードの海岸沿いを、久しぶりにランニング。
(and run along the coast to the city.)
【景色はいいし、気持ちよかった☆】
(The scenery from Esplanade was very good!)
こっちはもう気温３０℃を超しているので、普通に歩いている分にはいいけど、
(The temperture here is over 30℃, it wasn't a matter if I was walking. )
ちょっと走ると、めっちゃ汗をかく。
(But when I started running, I sweated very much.)
でも、こういうトロピカルな雰囲気が大好きだ♪
(I like this tropical atmosphere.)
その後、夕方まで街を散策しながら、ケアンズ近郊でのいい仕事がないか、
(I walked around Cairns city and checked some agency for my job.)
ちょっと調べて回ってみたけど、１ヶ月くらいの短期で、しかも農場っていう職場は全くナシ。
(But I couldn't find any good informations.)
ケアンズでは、自分の目的に合う仕事は見つからないということがわかった。
(I concluded that it's impossible to find a nice job for me in Cairns.)
夕方、イアンさんに迎えに来てもらって、帰宅。
(In the evening, I called Ian to pick me up and went home.)
今晩は、イアンさんは外食へ出かけていったので、一人留守番。
(Tonight Ian was out, so I was left at home alone.)
午後７時に、近所に住む高校生のクリスが来て、
(At 7pm, Chris who is one of a neighborhood high school boy came.)
宮城のMasaさんAsaさんと４人で、スカイプでおしゃべりをした。
(With Masa&Asa in Miyagi, we four had a good conversation on skype.)
クリスは、とても好青年で釣り好き。
Chris is nice boy and likes fishing.
「今、サラトガっていう珍しい魚を飼ってるんだけど、見に来る？」
("Do you wanna come to my house and see SARATOGA??")
と誘ってくれたので、家にお邪魔して見せてもらった。
(He asked me. Of course I did!!)

(This is SARATOGA which is rare fish.)
クリスは、とても釣りが上手みたいだから、教えてもらいながらいい友達になれたらいいな♪
(Chris is good at fishing, I hope he'll tell me how to catch fish and we can be a good friend.)
帰ってきてから、ジェニーさんに電話した。
(I returned to home, I called Jenny.)
「明日、Tullyへ行く途中、カフェに会いに行きますよ！」
("Tomorrow, we'll go to Tully. So I can visit your cafe on the way to Tully!")
と話し、明日、ジェニーさんにも会えることになった♪
(Jenny said "OK!".)
明日は、どんな一日になるだろう？？
(I was excited when I thought about what will be happened tomorrow??)
毎日、次の日が来るのが楽しみだ☆
(Everyday, I'm looking forward to tomorrow!)
